Opportunities for Youth

Youth Ministry at St. Mary’s

St Mary’s Parish is dedicated to leading our teens to Christ through various social and service activities, participation in liturgy and other worship experiences, through catechesis, retreats and by encouraging them to a deeper prayer life. Education in the Catholic Faith is offered through 5-week mini courses, held in three times a year, at 9:00—10:15am  on Sunday mornings.

The Journey Retreat Program: This 3-day retreat is held two or three times a year and is hosted by St. Kateri Parish in Niskayuna, (Schenectady) New York.   It is primarily, a peer run retreat which has been enjoyed by many of St Mary’s youth over the past years and several of our teens have returned to be a part of the retreat team. For more information about this retreat, please email Bridgette in the Faith Formation office to be put in touch with past “Jouneyers”.

National Catholic Youth Conference: This event, held every two years in November, is the largest gathering of Catholic youth in the United States and has been described by those who have attended past conferences as faith filled, action packed and fun!! We hope to again bring a group from St Mary's to the next NCYC event in November.
The Conference includes concerts, worship experiences, comedians, inspirational speakers, service opportunities, workshops and much more. Please help support us in our fund raising efforts so we can make this trip affordable for our teens.
